The France visas issued to foreign nationals are of many different types.  These visas help those intending to take up long-term residence and short-term visa for Students, workers, visitors and engaged couples  seeking a visa for France that will lead to long-term or permanent residence.
Long stay visas (visa de long séjour) are only given by Consular authorities and they are a prerequisite to obtaining the right to remain in France and  to obtain a stay card (carte de séjour). A long stay visa is required in particular by applicants who wish to obtain a stay card as a visitor,  employee, student, or family visa.
There is an intermediate visa, between the short stay visa and the long stay visa, for stays of six months, and which do not require that the alien obtain a stay card. But this visa has only limited uses and most people who wish to remain in France will need to make an application for a long stay visa, with or without the assistance of counsel.
These visas range from transit visas within the Schengen Area to the popular extended-stay student visa (known as the VLS-TS) and the many types of France visa available for workers which includes:
1. Immigration / Family visa to France - France Immigration visa helps those intending to take up long-term residence.  An applicant who has married a French citizen can also apply for Immigration / Residence visa to France.
2. Work visas for France – France can issue the following work visas, which cover many different areas.
a)  The skills and talents permit is a three-year renewable visa for professional activity related to a specific project.

d) The seasonal worker permit covers those engaged in seasonal activities for more than three months.
e) The scientific permit covers applicants who hold a master’s degree and want to carry out research or teaching activities.
3. Student visas for France

4. Schengen Short-Stay Visa -  Visitors applying for this short-stay visa for French travel will need a valid passport and proof of the purpose of their stay in the Schengen Area.  There is a harmonization of rules across the European Union for short-stay  visas (called "Schengen Visas"), allowing free movement in the Schengen
space (Europe). There are various types of such visas, whether for business
or pleasure, issued by one of the European member states to the Schengen
convention. The visa is granted for one or multiple stays for no more than
three months per every six months.
5. Short-stay visa to marry French citizen in France - For this type of French visa, an applicant will require two sets of documents with details about themself, their future spouse and the marriage ceremony.
6. Transit visas - France has many regulations and exclusions depending on whether travellers are moving inside or outside the Schengen Area.
Applying for a visa can be a complicated process, but our expertise in Immigration rules and experience from many years of successful journey will help to make immigration easier for you.
