There have been suggestions that in future UK Immigration rule may change adult dependents of skilled workers under say the Tier 1 visa and Tier 2 visa scheme. A dependent over the age of 18 years can apply for indefinite leave to remain as the same time as the parents. If the new rule is implemented then the adult dependents of the Skilled workers will not be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain in UK.
The children of Tier 1 visa and Tier 2 visa holders may have to come under another visa category in future in order to stay in the UK. It was also advised that they may be able to remain as on Tier 4 students or make it under the Tier 1 visa or Tier 2 visa scheme for themselves.
It will become more difficult for many children of skilled workers to come under the Tier 1 and Tier 2 visa scheme. Tier 1 post study work scheme may be also abolished in future this will make it even more difficult for dependents over 18 years of old to remain in the UK.
Therefore it is advisable to process adult dependant’s application at the earliest before it becomes tougher for a dependant over 18 years to remain in UK.
