Recently Express Entry draw invited 3782 applicants to apply for Permanent Residence visa to Canada. There were two Express Entry draws that took place issued 455 Invitations to Apply under (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence were issued to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program for applicants with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 455 on the last draw.
• A total of 85,300 ITAs were issued through Express Entry in 2019.
• Till date total of 30,400 ITAs have been issued to Express Entry applicants for the year 2020.
The fourth draw to target exclusively CEC candidates in the history of Express Entry. It is possible Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) targeted CEC candidates because they are most likely to be already in Canada, given the current restrictions in place due to the coronavirus outbreak. This was the eleventh round of invitations under Express Entry in 2020 and the 144th overall.
The Government of Canada is targeting huge no. of migrants to be admitted under Immigration for the year 2020-2022 which are as follows:
• For the year 2020 the Government of Canada is targeting the admission of 341,000 immigrants.
• For the year 2021 the Government of Canada is targeting the admission of 351,000 immigrants.
• For the year 2022 the Government of Canada is targeting the admission of 361,000 immigrants.
The vast majority of Express Entry draws include applicants from all three classes and latest draw was one of the rare exceptions to this rule. Assumed Canada’s higher admission goals for its three Federal Skilled immigration programs in 2020 and 2021, it is expected that IRCC will hold more regular and larger draws in the coming weeks and months.
All eligible Express Entry applicants are given a score under the CRS that is based on factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French. They are then entered into the Express Entry pool.
Different all-program invitation rounds, which draw from the entire Express Entry pool and tend to result in higher cut-off scores, place draws for a specific unit like Canadian Experience Class applicants can yield lower cut-off scores given they target a smaller pool of applicants.
The April 2020 draw cut-off score of 455 was 12 points lower than the cut-off score in the last CEC Express Entry draw, which was 467, this was mainly focussing on applicants who have Canadian work experience. The previous Express Entry draw cut-off was 808 points and which focussed on applicants who had Province Nomination approval.
Here are the following numbers on the selection process for the month of April 2020.
