US recently introduced an Immigrant Investor Pilot Program that would give permanent status for the EB-5 applicants.
The EB-5 immigrant visa program approves green cards to immigrants who invest USD$500,000 to $1 million in a "new commercial enterprise". This program will benefit the US economy and create at least 10 jobs.
EB-5 requires an investor to meet the requirements under the Pilot Program basically as the same as in the standard EB-5 investor program, except that the Pilot Program provides an investment to be affiliated with an economic unit known as a "Regional Center".
A Regional Center as defined by USCIS is any company that is involved with the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation and increased domestic capital investment.
